ODU FACULTY MEMBER ON 'WITH GOOD REASON' DEC. 14, 17
Brett Newman, associate professor of aerospace engineering at Old Dominion University, will be among the guests featured on an upcoming episode of the statewide radio program "With Good Reason." The segment will air on WNSB-FM (91.1) at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, and on WHRV-FM (89.5) at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17.
The show, which highlights the expertise of faculty at Virginia's higher education institutions, will discuss the bicentennial of powered flight and the future of aircraft design. Newman will join one of his colleagues from Virginia Tech to describe planes that might seat more a thousand passengers, wings that change shape in mid-flight, and aircraft the size of insects.
It will also be broadcast on the Web at www.withgoodreasonradio.org beginning Friday, Dec. 19. A schedule of coming programs, as well as an archive of past shows, is available on the With Good Reason Web site.
