VIRGINIA CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY CONSORTIUM CELEBRATES 25 YEARS
The Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, a joint doctoral program offered by Old Dominion University, the College of William and Mary, Eastern Virginia Medical School and Norfolk State University, will celebrate its 25th anniversary Nov. 15 at the Hilton-Norfolk Airport. Graduates of the program will present a series of continuing education workshops on psychological assessment and therapy to the program's practicum supervisors, faculty, students and alumni.
Although administered through four universities, one transcript is maintained, and one degree and diploma are awarded. The American Psychological Association accredited the program in 1982 and to date there are 189 graduates.
Twenty-four faculty members from the four institutions teach in the program and 60 community supervisors from more than 20 public and private area mental health agencies provide clinical practicum training. Advanced practicum training is offered in neuropsychology, family therapy and individual therapy.
