INTERNATIONAL-STUDENT WEB SITE OFFERED
In conjunction with International Education Week Nov. 17-21, national intensive English instruction groups in connection with federal officials, have launched a new Web site to provide details about the economic impact students have on their regions, international sudent volunteer efforts made in their communities and a review of relevant legislation and testimony.
The Web address is www.internationaleducationmatters.org.
For example, foreign students spent more than $250 million in Virginia in 2002-03, according to data provided on the site. Foreign students comprise more than 4 percent of American's total higher education population, but they contribute more than $12 billion to the U.S. economy in tuition, living expenses and related costs.
