FACULTY INTEREST SURVEY AVAILABLE ON THE WEB

Dear faculty,

In an effort to create more opportunities for interaction between ODU students and faculty/staff, The Office of Student Activities and Leadership (OSAL) is assessing the amount of involvement you would be willing to have with the registered student organizations.

It is our belief that much of the learning and development that occurs within the life of a student can be fostered through a combination of both in and out-of-class learning opportunities in which faculty and staff are involved. Through the vehicle of programming, OSAL has had a positive impact on promoting student growth and development, creating a strong sense of community, and improving the atmosphere and quality of life within the student organizations, and the campus community as a whole.

On the Web at http://newcrimson.ts.odu.edu/web/Faculty_Interest_Survey/facultyinterestsurvey.html, you will find a list of programs that have been done in the past for students. If you have interests in any of these listed, please check off any topics/programs that you are interested in presenting to students.

If a topic is not listed, such as a hobby (fly fishing, home theater systems, canoeing, gourmet cooking, etc), an area of expertise, or any topic that you may be familiar with please indicate that topic on the last page. From the surveys that are returned, a program list will be compiled and will be made available to all student organizations' leaders.

We encourage each organization to contact you. However, as in the past, some faculty and staff volunteers may never be contacted. Sometimes there have been several faculty and staff who select the same program topics. We ask the students to contact you in advance and your involvement is voluntary.
