In March 2002, the ODU Theatre Program lost one of its highly prized students. In memoriam, and in an effort to educate ourselves to the warning signals of relationships that have gone wrong, theatre students and faculty have collected interviews and memories from friends and loved ones, and from victims, counselors, police officers and perpetrators who experience the effects of abusive relationships from their own unique perspectives. These interviews are woven together with excerpts from Shakespeare's "Othello" to create "Willow Song" (Desdemona's song before her murder), a performance created both to commemorate a loved one and to caution her survivors.

The performances are sponsored by the Old Dominion University Theatre and The Division of Student Services and coordinated by The Women's Center. More information is available by calling 683-4109 or via e-mail at womenctr@odu.edu.
