ODU OBSERVES 9/11 ANNIVERSARY
Old Dominion University's observance of the second anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., will be at 8 a.m. on Patriots Day, Thursday, Thursday, Sept. 11, on Kaufman Mall.
The National Anthem will be performed by the Old Dominion University Brass Ensemble and remarks by Old Dominion President Roseann Runte will follow. A wreath will be placed at the memorial to the ODU graduates who were killed in the attacks.
President Runte also has asked that the campus community take part in a nationwide moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. Sept. 11, to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on the United States two years ago.
The invocation will be delivered by the Rev. Rob Sandford, president of the University Chaplains Association.
