ODU IMPLEMENTS ONLINE HIRING
Effective Monday, Sept. 8, the Department of Human Resources at Old Dominion University will implement a customized online job application and job posting system that streamlines the recruitment process and provides a paperless method to apply for classified and hourly vacancies.
Applicants will log on to the Web site, jobs.odu.edu, to view entire job descriptions on-line, apply for job postings anytime, anywhere with internet access, complete one application that can be used to apply to multiple job postings now or in the future, edit and update their applications, and attach cover letters, resumes and other documents. They also create a user name and a password that will give them access to check their status in the recruitment process at any time.
Hiring managers will log on and review the applications for their positions online. No more piles of paper applications. No more waiting for HR to send you the applications to screen. Applications can be reviewed anytime and anywhere that there is internet access.
Hiring managers who recruit for numerous positions during a year were invited to a training session on Aug. 21. All other hiring managers will receive training on the new system as vacancies occur in their organizations.
For applicants without computer access, Human Resources has set-up three kiosks in HR Building I and staff will assist applicants in using the new system.
Check the HR web page for more information over the next few weeks.
