EDGERTON ON NATIONAL RADIO PROGRAM

Gary R. Edgerton, professor and chair of the communication and theatre arts department at Old Dominion University, will be featured on the radio program "Talking History" the week of Sept. 8.

During the 30-minute interview, Edgerton will discuss his book "Ken Burns's America" and Burns's films.

The show is hosted by Bryan Le Beau and available on 400 stations nationwide on the Public Radio Satellite System and internationally on the Voice of America. This program is sponsored by the Organization of American Historians.

The program is accessible on the Web at http://talkinghistory.oah.org/.

"Talking History" focuses on all aspects of history: how we recall it, how we preserve it, how we interpret it, how we transform it into myth, and how we pass it on - as teachers, researchers, archivists, museum curators and documentarians. The radio show is aimed at a non-professional audience, and is dedicated to bridging the gap between the history profession and a history-hungry public.
