ODU SAILORS FINALISTS FOR AWARD

Senior skipper Corrie Clement and sophomore skipper Anna Tunnicliffe are among the finalists for the 2002-03 Quantum Award, awarded to the top female skipper who has compiled the best overall record for the academic year in the ICSA North American Women's Single-handed and Dinghy Championship and the respective district championships.

Clement, who is currently ranked third in the nation, finished first in the MAISA District Singlehanded Championship, took fifth in the North American Singlehanded Championship, and came in second in the District Dinghy Championship.

Tunnicliffe, who is currently ranked eighth, won her first North American Championship in Singlehanded competition in November. She also has third place finishes in the District Dinghy Championship and the District Singlehanded Championship.

Clement and Tunnicliffe also helped propel the third ranked Lady Monarchs to a spot in the ICSA Women's North American Championship to be held June 2-4 in Gross Pointe Shores, MI. The women's sailing team will look to defend their title in the three-day, 18-team competition.

The ICSA All-America Selection Committee will choose a winner of the Quantum Award in June at the conclusion of the Spring North American Championships.
