ODU LACROSSE STAR EARNS REGION AWARD
Old Dominion women's lacrosse junior midfielder Suzanne Wosczyna was named to the IWLCA/US Lacrosse Second Team All-South Region.
Wosczyna, a three-time First Team All-CAA selection and two-time CAA All-Tournament Team honoree, averaged 6.42 points and 2.67 assists per game to lead the nation in both categories.
Wosczyna, who became ODU's all-time leading scorer in just her third season on the squad, helped lead the Lady Monarch women's lacrosse squad to a 12-4 overall mark and the finals of the CAA Tournament for the second straight season. A Tewaaraton Trophy nominee for the nation's top women's lacrosse player, Wosczyna holds the 2003 single game high in points with 12 scoring six goals and six assists in ODU's conference win over Drexel on April 11.
Wosczyna accumulated 77 points in 2003 with 45 goals and 32 assists and holds a career mark of 149 points, 91 goals, and 240 assists. She recorded five or more points in a single game on eight occasions this year, tallied three-game winners, and scored at least one goal and one assist in her 12 appearances.
