NATURE CONSERVANCY CHIEF TO ADDRESS WORLD AFFAIRS CLUB
Steven J. McCormick, president and CEO of The Nature Conservancy, will address the World Affairs Council of Greater Hampton Roads at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel in Norfolk.
Old Dominion University is a corporate sponsor of the World Affairs Council.
McCormick's topic will be "Global Environmental Threats and Solutions: There Are No Borders." The program will begin at 6:15 p.m. with a pre-dinner reception followed by dinner at 7 p.m.
The Nature Conservancy operates out of some 400 offices in places as diverse as China, Latin America and the Pacific Rim. Locally, The Nature Conservancy manages significant preserves on the Eastern Shore, along the rim of Back Bay, and the "Green Sea" in Chesapeake and Suffolk, the largest contiguous wetlands preserve in the United States.
