ID CARDS HALF PRICE JUNE 9-13

Old Dominion University faculty, staff and students can have special ID cards made for half price June 9-13.

The new cards, bearing only the last four digits of the cardholder's social security number, will cost $5 during that period, as opposed to the usual $10. Officials felt some cardholders whose cards predate the recent switch to the four digits and show their entire ID number might prefer the shorter number because of security concerns.

Effective March 31, all Old Dominion faculty, staff and students were required to carry an official university identification card with them while on campus. The measure was taken as part of the university's ongoing emergency preparedness efforts.

This also applies to part-time employees and adjunct faculty, who have not been asked to have IDs in the past. Part-time staff who are also students will only need to carry a student ID card.

There is no cost to obtain an initial photo ID card.

The card center is located in 1110 Webb University Center. For more information, call 683-3508 or visit their Web site at www.odu.edu/cardcenter.
