FULMORE NAMED NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT, SCHOLAR SERVICES DIRECTOR

The Office of International Programs has announced that Robbin Fulmore, senior international advisor at the University of Georgia, has been named director of international student and scholar services at Old Dominion University.

Fulmore brings 23 years of experience working with international students and scholars to ODU.

John Heyl, executive director of the Office of International Programs, said, "We are very fortunate to have someone as experienced and eager for a new challenge as Robbin to join the OIP leadership team. Our expanding ISSS office will benefit from her experience at a larger, more complex institution that served its international students and scholars well."

Fulmore will begin her work at ODU on July 10 and succeeds Scott King, who accepted a position at the University of Iowa. She received both her master's in adult education and her bachelor's in international studies from the University of Arkansas.

At Georgia, she provided information on governmental regulations with regard to immigration and student visas. She also led outreach orientation for scholars, faculty and the university community.

From 1980-2000, Fulmore was an international student advisor at the University of Arkansas, providing programming and counseling to international students. She also taught reading part-time to non-native speakers in the university's English language program and was responsible for cultural and training diversity programs, hiring staff and regulating activities budgets.

Fulmore has been a member of the National Association of Foreign Student Advisers since 1988.
