FINANCE IN TOP 14 PERCENT GLOBALLY
Old Dominion University's finance program was ranked 121 out of 922 programs at academic institutions throughout the world in the winter 2002 issue of Financial Management, a journal of the Financial Management Association International.
Two ODU finance professors were ranked among the top 1,000 professors globally. John Doukas, professor and eminent scholar of finance, was ranked 351 and Mohammad Najand, professor of finance, was ranked 641.
The study was conducted by University of Dayton finance faculty Kam C. Chan, Carl R. Chen and Thomas L. Steiner. Rankings were based on an institution's academic productivity, which they determined by analyzing research articles published in 16 of the most influential finance journals from 1990-2001. The complete study can be viewed on the professors' Web site at http://faculty.sba.udayton.edu/chan/moveup.htm.
