NABEEL QURESHI NAMED BOV STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE
Nabeel Qureshi, a junior communications major from Virginia Beach, Friday was named as the student representative to the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors.
Fellow students Ryan Grizzle and Rishi Laroia will serve as alternates. Qureshi replaces Lauren Marsh, whose term as student representative expires at the end of the semester.
President of the award-winning Old Dominion forensics and debate team, Qureshi is also active with the team's Speech Chorus, a fixture at many campus events during the school year.
Qureshi is co-president of the regional Tidewater Forensic League and has been a volunteer at Princess Anne High School and Chesapeake General Hospital. He is president of the Academic Honors Association at Old Dominion and a member of the Pre-Health Club. He also works in Old Dominion's Office of Admissions.
With an emphasis in interpersonal communication and a minor in biology, Qureshi plans to enter medical school after his Old Dominion graduation.
