MCADORY TO RECEIVE AUA AWARD
The Association of University Administrators has named Alice McAdory, director of admissions, as the J. Worth Pickering Administrator of the Year.
A reception will be held in her honor from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Enrico's Restaurante on Colley Avenue in Norfolk.. Hors d'oeuvres are free to AUA members, $2 for non-members.
In his letter of nomination, Joe Rule, interim dean of the College of Sciences, said, "Alice is an extremely effective and efficient administrator and has instilled pride in accomplishment to her staff. Alice commonly puts in 10-11 hour days in her office in order to `get the job done right'."
AUA will also be honoring J. Worth Pickering, associate director and senior research associate in the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. The Administrator of the Year Award is being named in his honor as he was a founding member of the Association and its first president. Worth is stepping down from the executive board after serving 13 years.
