FORMER MONARCH MARSH TO PLAY IN P.I.T.

Ricardo Marsh, an All-CAA basketball player at Old Dominion University, has accepted an invitation to play in the 2003 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, an upcoming exhibition for NBA hopefuls.

The 51st Portsmouth Invitational Tournament April 9-12 is the nation's oldest amateur basketball tournament, recognized by NBA and European scouts as one of the premier showcase for hot prospects. All games held in the gymnasium of Churchland High School, 4301 Cedar Lane, Portsmouth.

Tickets are $8 per night or $25 for all 11 games of the tournament. Thursday and Friday afternoon consolation games are free. Tickets are available through all Ticketmaster outlets and through the Willett Hall box office.

Money raised by the tournament is funneled to local non-profit organizations and scholarships to deserving high school student-athletes. The PIT has raised more than 450,000 in contributions to these causes over the years, and a total of 90 PIT scholarships have been awarded.
