THIRD ANNUAL WOMENGINEERS DAY TO BE HELD APRIL 5 AT ODU
The third annual Womengineers Day, an initiative aimed at the education, recruitment and retention of female students from elementary school through college, will be held Saturday, April 5, at Old Dominion University.
Sponsored by the College of Engineering and Technology, Womengineers Day is designed for students, professional engineers and teachers of future engineers. The free event will feature information, support systems, networking opportunities, scholarship and financial aid information, and on issues facing women in engineering.
Rachel Hutter, director of attractions engineering services and quality assurance at Walt Disney World Co., will be the keynote speaker. An employee of the entertainment company since 1997, Hutter currently is responsible for a the technical proficiency of the maintenance teams that work on rides and attractions and the quality assurance teams that are responsible for safety through inspections, engineering reviews, and process control.
