OLD DOMINION FACULTY MEMBER ON CNBC MONDAY

Old Dominion University faculty member Steve Yetiv Monday was a guest on the CNBC cable business program, "Closing Bell with Maria Bartiromo."

Yetiv, associate professor of political science and geography, was interviewed in connection with his new book, "The Evolution of Oil Stability," currently under review by Cornell University Press.

With a war looming in Iraq, oil markets won't necessarily become less stable should fighting break out, he says in the book. On the contrary; Middle East oil instablity has been exaggerated and long-term developments have changed the region, world politics and the behavior of OPEC and global oil markets to the point where those markets are more insulated against upheaval, he said.
