ODU FACULTY MEMBER SOUGHT FOR JAPAN EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The University of Kitakyushu in Japan, a longtime Old Dominion University partner, has offered the opportunity to send a professor to teach a course in American society/culture to their students this summer.
Classes will be conducted from Aug. 17-21, three classes a day including Sunday. The professor will teach a total of 15 classes.
The rate of compensation for each class is 11,800 yen (approximately $89 U.S. dollars). Housing will be provided by the University of Kitakyushu. The Office of International Programs will provide airfare.
Due to recent university budget cuts, only one faculty member will be selected for the 2003 program. Recent participants in the program include Sangita Gopal and Gary Copeland (2002); Ed Neukrug and Alice Wakefield (2001); and Jill Jurgens and Sharon Raver-Lampman (2000).
The program is open to full-time faculty from any relevant discipline. An application is required by April 25. For more information, contact Patty Wade, Office of International Programs, at pwade@odu.edu or 683-5195.
