HEALTH SCIENCES RESEARCH DAY TODAY
Old Dominion University's College of Health Sciences will hold its annual Research Day Wednesday, March 26 in the Hampton/Newport News Room of Webb University Center.
Poster presentations on such topics as benefits of community health fairs, effects of daily oral care, and heart disease in Virginia, will be on display from 4-5 p.m.
At 5 p.m., Nancy B. Cummings, senior biomedical advisor emeritus for the National Institutes of Health, will give the keynote address, "Ethical Issues in Human Research."
The event will conclude with oral presentations of six faculty research projects, beginning at 6 p.m. Topics include predicting occupational injury rates, the effects of wealth on health, evaluation of the "Health Me" program, measuring parent satisfaction with special education services, cytotechnology recruitment and reliability of standardized patient scoring in physical therapy education.
