FILM AND VIDEO FEST BEGINS MONDAY

The 2003 Old Dominion University Film and Video Festival, titled "Soundtracks: Music in Film and Television," will be held March 30-April 4. All events are free and open to the public and will take place on the Old Dominion campus in room 102 of the Mills Godwin Jr. Life Sciences Building unless noted.

Sunday's events include:
2 p.m.
"Major Jewish Film Composers from the Golden Age of Hollywood," an examination of the role of music in film, with attention given to some of the different techniques used by composers that result in particular emotional responses in viewers, presented by Katherine Preston, associate professor and chair of the Department of Music at The College of William and Mary.

7 p.m.
"A Hard Day's Night" (1964) Introduction and comments offered by Andy Freeman, assistant professor, Department of Cinema Television and Theatre Studies, Regent University (location: School of Communications and the Arts Building, Regent University).
