SPECIAL COLLECTIONS ACCEPTING ARCHIVAL MATERIALS

The Old Dominion University Library's Special Collections Department, which houses the university archives, accepts departmental publications significant to the university community.

Items currently accepted by the archives include: university newspapers such as the Mace and Crown and The Courier; yearbooks; alumni directories; university catalogs and class schedules; calendars and schedules, such as the Blue Bulletin and athletic schedules; faculty handbooks; department newsletters such as Multicultural Student Services' "Spectrum" and Women's Studies "Like Minds"; and academic magazines such as "Quest" and "Catalyst." All items are available in Special Collections for anyone doing research.

Books and serials, such as magazines and newspapers, should be sent to the Serials Department of Bibliographic Services at Perry Library, as they need to be catalogued. Items such as calendars, programs, schedules, and other items that are either only a few pages or a one-time publication, may be sent directly to Special Collections in the Library.

More information is available by contacting Special Collections at 683-4483 or at hfrizzel@odu.edu.
