ANNUAL ECONOMIC OUTLOOK CONFERENCE IS TODAY
Mark Zandi, chief economist and cofounder of the Regional Financial Association, will be the featured speaker at the Old Dominion University Economics Club of Hampton Roads' annual Economic Outlook Conference Tuesday, Jan. 15.
Co-sponsored by Old Dominion's College of Business and Public Administration, the conference will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheraton Waterside Hotel in downtown Norfolk. The cost is $30 for nonmembers. Due to limited space, reservations are required.
Old Dominion economics professors Vinod Agarwal and Gilbert Yochum and finance professor Mohammad Najand will also give their economic forecast for the region.
As chief economist of the Pennsylvania-based economic consulting firm, RFA, Zandi directs research and consulting activities and contributes to the analysis of national and regional economic events and trends. His research interests include studies of the determinants of personal bankruptcy and the impact of globalization and technological changes on real estate markets. Zandi's articles have been published in journals such as The RREEF Funds Strategic Outlook, The Journal of Lending and Credit Risk Management and the Regional Financial Review.
Zandi earned his doctorate in research from the University of Pennsylvania.
