MILL LECTURE IS NOV. 15 AT OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion University's Institute for Applied Ethics will present a lecture titled "Is J. S. Mill a Free Speech Absolutist?" at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, in the Virginia Beach Room of Webb University Center.
The lecture will be presented by Professor Jonathan Riley, of both the Department of Philosophy and the Murphy Institute of Political Economy at Tulane University. He is a fellow of the National Humanities Center during 2002-2003.
His recent and forthcoming publications include "Mill's Radical Liberalism" (Routledge) and articles in Political Theory and The American Political Science Review. He is currently completing a book manuscript titled "Pluralistic Liberalisms: A Perspective on Liberalism After Mill."
