HOST FAMILIES SOUGHT FOR VISITORS FROM KYRGYZSTAN

Host families are needed for visiting teachers from the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan, who will be in Norfolk early next year to learn about global citizenship.

Housing in Norfolk near Granby High School or Old Dominion University is preferable. The visits will be either Feb. 23March 8 or March 18-30.

The lodger's responsibilities include: room and board (breakfast and supper); transportation to and from Granby High School or Old Dominion University on weekdays; participation in some tours and weekend activities; social time with the interns.

Part of the experience is living with American families, practicing their English and learning on a personal level about Americans and life in the United States.

A $400 stipend plus an internship banquet for one member of the host family on March 27 will be offered.

For more information, contact Kamilla Bahbahani at Old Dominion University's College of Education at 683-6459 or kbahbaha@odu.edu.
