OLD DOMINION CUSTOMER RELATIONS AWARDS GIVEN
Dave Robichaud, project manager for the new Ted Constant Convocation Center, and the graphics department of Academic Technology Services received the 2002 Customer Relations Employee and Department of the Year Awards Monday during President Roseann Runte's annual address to Old Dominion University's Hourly and Classified Employees.
With construction concluding for the Constant Convocation Center, the largest and most critical construction project in university history, Robichaud was honored for his customer relations skills.
"I cannot compliment his efforts enough," said Bob Fenning, vice president for administration and finance. "I have never seen a project manager have every user sing his praises. There were many tough issues and decisions, but he represented all parties well."
The three staff members of the Academic Technology graphics department -- Debbie Miller, Robert Jones and Don Emminger -- provide design services for faculty and administrative staff for teaching, research, scholarly publications, conferences, seminars and meetings.
"In short, this department is a gem in the university community," said John Adam, a faculty member in the mathematics department. "I think that they deserve recognition for all they do and the...manner in which they do it."
