LUDACRIS, NAPPY ROOTS PERFORM AT HOMECOMING 2002 NOV. 16

Rapper Ludacris and special guest Nappy Roots will raise the roof at Old Dominion University's new Ted Constant Convocation Center when they perform for Homecoming 2002 Saturday, Nov. 16.

The concert, one of a number of activities throughout the month celebrating the grand opening of the convocation center, will begin at 8 p.m. in the state-of-the-art facility. Tickets cost $15 for Old Dominion students, $25 for general public and are available now at Ticketmaster outlets, the Constant Convocation Center box office and the Campus Information Center in Webb University Center.

Ludacris, whose single "Move" with Mystikal has been in heavy rotation on MTV and radio stations across the country, released his fourth album, "Golden Grain" this month, following last year's successful "Word of Mouf" His debut album, "Back For the First Time," was initially released independently as "Incognegro." Fueled by the single "What's Your Fantasy," the album took rap audiences by storm and Ludacris was signed quickly by major label Def Jam South.

Nappy Roots, the Kentucky-based rap group formed by six students at Western Kentucky Univeristy, made their major label debut last February with "Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz." Their breakthrough radio hit "Awnaw" displays the album's freewheeling party atmosphere.
