GLOBAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IS THURSDAY

Shabbir Akhar, assistant professor of philosophy and religious studies at Old Dominion University, will present the next workshop in this fall's Global Certificate Program, titled "Islam and the Muslim World," from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Isle of Wight Room of Webb University Center.

The presentation is open to any member of the university community and the presentation will provide an overview of the Islamic faith and the ways that it affects students and will address common misconceptions of those unfamiliar with the Muslim world.
