HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH KICKS OFF SEPT. 15 AT OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion University's Office of Multicultural Student Services in collaboration with the Hispanic Community Dialogue Group invites the community to the third annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration and Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in the north cafeteria of Webb University Center at Old Dominion University.
This event will mark the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, which will continue throughout September and October with various activities and events at Old Dominion University. Through dance, music and song, local artists will display the cultural richness within the Hispanic community. Performing artists will include Beatriz Amberman's Hispanic Folk Ballet, the Flores Flamenco Dance Ensemble of Spain and Ofelia Watley from Panama. Food and merchant vendors will display items from various Hispanic countries.
The Hispanic Health Fair will present several bilingual doctors and health care providers, staff from the Virginia Department of Social Services, and local Health Departments who will offer a variety of services and medical information.
