OLD DOMINION ALUMNA IS HAMPTON TEACHER OF THE YEAR

Cassandra Murphy, a sixth-grade social studies teacher at Eaton Middle School in Hampton, recently was named that school district's Teacher of the Year.

A graduate of Old Dominion University with a master's degree in elementary education, Murphy learned of her selection at a recent Hampton School Board meeting.

Earlier this year, she was selected Hampton's Middle School Teacher of the Year and was featured � along with the elementary and high school teachers of the year � in a recent issue of the Hampton city schools newsletter. She was also recognized in August along with other Peninsula Teachers of the Year in The Daily Press.

Murphy has been employed for three years at Eaton Middle School.
