YOCHUM APPOINTED TO GOVERNOR'S ADVISORY BOARD

Gilbert R. Yochum, professor of economics at Old Dominion University, has been appointed by Gov. Mark Warner to the Governor's Advisory Board of Economists.

One of 11 economists from both the public and private sectors, Yochum will review, evaluate and make recommendations regarding revenue estimates, econometric methodology used to prepare the governor's six-year estimates of anticipated general and nongeneral fund revenues, and current and projected economic outlook for the commonwealth and the nation.

A member of the Old Dominion faculty since 1975, Yochum heads the university's Economic Forecasting Project, which compiles and releases economic data for the region. His real per capita income study in 2001 with economics department Chair Vinod Agarwal was featured in nearly 100 newspapers and magazines across the country.
