VMASC RECEIVES $180K AWARD
Old Dominion's Virginia Modeling, Analysis and Simulation Center (VMASC) was awarded a $180K project task under the ODURF Student and Faculty contract with USJFCOM for the development of a Joint Range Integration and Joint Battle-Space Environment Demonstration for the 2002 Interservice / Interagency Training and Simulation Conference (I/ITSEC 2002).
This project is chartered to continue and expand on the 2001effort that explored distributed simulation activities that the Department of Defense needs to both define and make progress on mixing live, virtual, and constructive applications, in the joint and combined environment, that support current and future operations. The vision is to create an on-demand, integrated environmental and operational battlespace capable of selectively accommodating different functional applications, at varying levels of detail, using common components. The project will continue through the spring 2003 semester.
