SONG AWARDED NSF EQUIPMENT GRANT

Min Song, who joined Old Dominion University this summer as an assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering, received a National Science Foundation equipment grant for a multiservice routing switch, which will be used to build a Gigabit Networking Research Lab within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Faculty and graduate students will use this lab to carry out networking-related research.

Song received his B.S. degree from Shandong Institute of Technology in 1986 and his M.S. degree from the North China University of Electric Power in 1989. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toledo in 2001.

His research interests include packet scheduling algorithms, Internet and wireless network quality of service control and security control, ATM switch design and testing, high-speed network simulation and performance analysis, active kernel for active networking and intelligent networks, system on chip design, and optical networks.
