OPPORTUNITIES TO BE A SHIPBOARD GUEST OF THE NAVY AVAILABLE
Old Dominion University administrators, faculty and staff can get an up-close look at what being in the Navy is all about as a guest of the Navy for one to five night cruises during August and September.
The program was developed to provide a first-hand look at the shipboard living and working quarters of Navy sailors. Participants will observe the day-to-day operations that take place onboard a Navy ship, including flight exercises and sailors standing watch at night. In addition, the guests of the Navy will live in officers' quarters to get a complete understanding of life at sea.
All participants are responsible for any personal expenses that they incur during their cruise. Guests should bring money for meals and should arrange their own transportation to and from ports. Casual clothing (no skirts or delicates) and flat shoes are a must for excursions.
