CONSORTIUM RECEIVES $1.9 MILLION GRANT
The Virginia Tidewater Consortium for Higher Education, a consortium of 15 local colleges and universities including and based at Old Dominion, has received a four-year, $1.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education for the support of VTC's Educational Opportunity Center.
Established in 1979, the center provides academic, career and financial aid counseling to Hampton Roads citizens. Last year Hampton Roads residents working with the center received more than $1.5 million in federal financial aid. Services are free and designed specifically for adults interested in higher education.
