COACH KRYSTKOWIAK RESIGNS

Old Dominion University men's basketball head coach Blaine Taylor announced Wednesday that men's basketball assistant coach Larry Krystkowiak has resigned for personal reasons effective immediately.

"We appreciate the time and energy that Larry has put into his position," said Taylor. "We wish him luck in future plans."

Prior to joining the Monarch staff, Krystkowiak spent two years as an assistant at his alma mater the University of Montana from 1998-2000.

A three-time Big Sky Conference Most Valuable Player of the Year at Montana, Krystkowiak was also a member of the USA National team, and a nine-year NBA veteran. While at Montana he played under current Old Dominion head coach Taylor who was an assistant with the Grizzlies at the time. Following graduation, Krystkowiak was the 28th pick of the 1986 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. During his nine-year professional career, he had stints with San Antonio, Milwaukee, Utah, Orlando, Chicago, and Los Angles.

A search for Krystkowiak's replacement will begin immediately.
