ENGINEERING STUDENT AWARDED SAWE SCHOLARSHIP
Electrical Engineering Technology student Kim Mullooly was awarded a $1000 scholarship by the Society of Allied Weight Engineers (SAWE) at their international conference, held May 23 in Virginia Beach.
Nominated for this honor by John Hackworth, University Professor and Electrical Engineering Technology Program Director, Mullooly, a junior, was selected by an SAWE committee to receive the scholarship.
Weight engineers aim to ensure the stability of large designs like aircraft, ships, spacecraft, and cranes through tracking their weight and center of gravity.
