SOL TRAINING OFFERED DURING 2002 DARDEN COLLEGE ACADEMY
Old Dominion University's 2002 Darden College of Education Academy for teachers of Virginia's Standards of Learning requirements will be from July 15-27 at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center and at satellite locations in Northern Virginia, the Peninsula and the university's Norfolk campus.
The academy, titled, "Teaching Smart: Best Practices Across the Curriculum," offers classes from two to five days in length and is designed to provide professional development in the Virginia SOL content areas. Courses focus on best practices in curriculum development and teaching to affect how teachers, counselors and administrators advance student achievement and improve student performance.
Instructors will be Old Dominion faculty, area school teachers, administrators and counselors. Convenient courses are offered mornings, evenings and/or weekends. All courses are one credit and may be eligible for 30 recertification licensure points.
