SEAN STAR WARS EXHIBIT OPENS SATURDAY AT GALLERY
"Jimmy the Pope (and Other Fantasies)," an exhibition of artwork by adjunct faculty member Sean Star Wars, will open with a reception at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the University Gallery.
The one-person allegorical print exhibition features woodblock prints portraying the story of a young American boy who is selected to succeed the pope after the pontiff dies in his town while on a tour. The tale is inspired by found, anonymous slides. The exhibit continues through July 7.

The gallery is currently hosting the Governor's School for the Arts Visual Arts Department Juried Student Exhibition, which will be up through June 2.
Later in the summer the gallery will host "ADversary," a traveling exhibition of graphic design collated by Kenneth Fitzgerald, assistant professor of art. The exhibit will open with a reception at 7 p.m. July 13 and continue through Aug. 4.
The University Gallery is located at 350 W. 21st St., Norfolk. Hours are noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday; noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 1-4 p.m. Sunday.
