PERRY LIBRARY NAMES LIBRARIAN, STAFF MEMBER OF THE YEAR
Old Dominion University's Perry Library recently named Chesapeake resident Pamela D. Morgan as Librarian of the Year and Norfolk resident Charles F. Hillen as Support Staff Member of the Year.
The pair will each receive $100 and have their names engraved on a plaque displayed in the library.
A member of the library staff since 1987, Morgan currently serves as the Collection Development Officer. In that role, she has implemented and executed a collection development program for the library and the 2001 journal cancellation project. Additionally, she developed the idea of a Web site as a vehicle for communicating updates on the project, and her service on the Virtual Library of Virginia resources committee has contributed significantly to the work of that committee, as well as to the excellence of VIVA's collections for the academic libraries of Virginia.
Hillen, lead cataloger in the Bibliographic Services Department, has worked at the library since 1993. He has served as a bindery clerk and as supervisor of the Music Listening Room and the Diehn Composers Room before his current role.
