TWENTY BANDS COME TO WEBB CENTER FOR 'ALL SKOOL'

More than 20 bands featuring a wide array of musical styles will converge in Old Dominion University's Webb University Center from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 27, for "All Skool" spring concert. Doors open at 8 p.m.

The brainchild of the Student Activities Council and Office of Student Activities and Leadership, the event was created with a diverse student body in mind.

"With the Internet, a new generation has been born," said Nicole Kiger, coordinator for activities and programs. "Today's youth no longer settle on listening to one genre of music. They search the Web for the fresh, the new and the interesting."

Headliners include Rahzel of the Roots, Cody Chestnutt, C-Minus of Korn, Jey One and Clipse. N*E*R*D/The Neptunes are special invited guests.

Other performers include Brian Zentz, Infectious Organisms, Jackmove, SeedIs, The Fuzz Band, Toque, Kjell, Karri On, No Talent Show, Kuya D, Shooting Blanks, Pepe Le Cue, Upper 90, Blackbird Pond, Start to Fetish, Problematik, Straight Bent, The Invisibles and URBAN Safari.

The event will be held in six rooms throughout Webb Center that includes various areas. In addition to the music, the event will include "Skate Park," sponsored by the Old Dominion Skateboard Society, as well as the "B-Boy Battle," sponsored by the Old Dominion Urban Dance Association. The B-Boy Battle preliminary competition will run from 6-9 p.m. with the finalists competing at the All Skool event for a $500 prize. In addition, works from the Student Art League will be on display.

Advance $2 tickets are available at the Campus Information Center in Webb Center. Student tickets will be $5 at the door. Tickets for the general public are $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
