THEATRE FESTIVAL CONTINUES THROUGH APRIL 28

Old Dominion University Theatre will hold its annual Spring Performance Festival Friday-Sunday, April 19-28, in the Stables Theatre, located behind the Technology Building on 47th Street and Hampton Boulevard. The program will include eight one-act plays in two running series.

Series One features works directed by Old Dominion students and will run April 19-21 and 26-28. Included are "Rare," a musical story about Bad Kats taking over the jungle; "Angelica's Combat Players," an artistic Shakespearean piece about love and violence; and "Us," an original musical, featuring an ensemble of students who will tell personal stories of relationships.

Series Two features the premiere of works by Old Dominion master of fine arts candidates and will run Monday-Thursday, April 22-25. It includes "Aunt Mable's Niece," the story of two women who teach each other the wisdom of their own generation, and "Italy," a solo performance of a traveler who uses words, color and movement to explore exterior places to invoke the interior journey.

Performances will be at 8 p.m. each night, with an additional performance at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $5 for Old Dominion students, $8 for faculty and staff, and $10 for the general public.
