OLD DOMINION HOSTS AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS 2002 CONFERENCE
Students and administrators from nine universities will descend on Old Dominion University April 5-7 for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers 2002 Regional Student and Administrator Conferences.
ASME President William A. Weiblen and Kenneth Hyde of the Wright Experience will be the featured speakers.
Students will take part in the Old Guard Presentation, a design competition and poster competition.� The Old Guard Presentation is designed to stress the importance of oral communication and writing skills in mechanical engineering.� In the "Baseball Frenzy" design competition, students work in groups to build a machine that projects baseballs to a target.
