MARSH APPOINTED AS STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE TO BOARD
Lauren Marsh, a sophomore psychology major from Virginia Beach, will serve as the student representative to the Old Dominion University Board of Visitors next year, the board voted Friday.
Marsh succeeds former student body President Mike Arendall, whose one-year term as a member of the board expires this spring.
Marsh is chair of the Old Dominion Homecoming Committee and the Student Senate Organizational Affairs Committee. She is a member of the University Athletics Committee and served on the presidential inauguration committee as a student member in 2001.
Marsh was a captain of the Student Senate Relay for Life Team this year and a volunteer for the Student Senate blood drive. She carries a 3.46 GPA.
"Given the nature of her student activities, one would be hard-pressed to find another candidate who has a better sense of the issues important to students at Old Dominion than Lauren," said Mark Scerbo, associate professor of psychology, in a letter of recommendation.
