HAMADA LEADING U.S. TEAM AT MARTIAL ARTS EXPOSITION IN JAPAN
Hiroyuki Hamada, associate professor exercise science, physical education and recreation, and martial artist in-residence, will lead a U.S. team of 95 elite performers and 103 delegates from 14 nations (United Kingdom, Italy, Russia, Malta, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Taiwan, Hungary, Armenia, Belgium and Israel) to the World Martial Arts Exposition in Kyoto, Japan, April 25 to May 1.
The performers will competitively display their martial arts skills in 10 classical disciplines. Japanese teams comprising 400 black belts will attend the exposition along with the international teams.
The event, to be held in Kyoto's historically renowned martial arts hall, is sponsored by Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, Japan's premier martial arts society; Kyoto Prefecture Government; Kyoto City; Kyoto News; and the international division of DNBK.
