GAIL TAYLOR A WINNER IN LOCAL RADIO STATION PROMOTION
First came Jill Jurgens, assistant professor of educational leadership and counseling, who won $7,250 during her recently televised appearance on "Wheel of Fortune."
Now, another faculty from the Darden College of Education has cashed in. Gail Singleton Taylor, associate professor of educational curriculum and instruction, took home more than $10,000 in prizes from the local FM radio station Oldies 92.9.
Unlike Jurgens, however, Taylor didn't have to solve any puzzles for her winnings. She simply filled out a contest entry form.
Taylor was skeptical when she was notified on April 1 that she had won, but she became a believer after picking up her winnings, which included a $1,000 gift certificate from Thomas Kincaid Galleries, two round trip airline tickets to anywhere in the U.S., a dining room set, savings bond and cell phone with service.
