CBFA HOSTS SCHOLARSHIP AND AWARDS CEREMONY

Kafi Rouse, the host of "Studio UPN Live," will be the master of ceremonies for the first Coalition of of Black Faculty and Administrators scholarship and awards ceremony Saturday, May 4.

The program, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Hampton/Newport News Room of Webb Center, will acknowledge campus and community leaders and include the presentation of scholarships to promising African American students.

Betty Diamond, director of financial aid, will receive the CBFA Distinguished Service Award, and former Board of Visitors Rector Edward L. Hamm will receive the Award for Excellence.

Tickets may be purchased by calling Jacqueline Hines at 683-3582. Proceeds go toward future student scholarships.
