CAHANA SELECTED CO-CAA PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Old Dominion University sophomore Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) and Virginia Commonwealth University senior Andrea Ondrisova (Bratislava, Slovakia) have been selected as the 2002 Colonial Athletic Association Co-Players of the Year in a vote of the league's head coaches.
Cahana is ranked 10th nationally in singles and 45th nationally in doubles in the latest Omni Collegiate Tennis Rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. As Old Dominion's number one seed, she posted a singles' record of 32-6 this season and reached the quarterfinals of the National Indoors. Cahana and teammate Ana Radeljevic (Zagreb, Croatia) formed the Monarchs' number one doubles squad. In 2001, Cahana was the CAA's Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Tournament Outstanding Performer.
The awards were April 18 prior to the quarterfinals of the 2002 CAA Women's Tennis Championship.
