WODU-AM TO HOLD 30TH ANNIVERSARY REUNION
Old Dominion University's campus AM radio station, WODU 1630, will hold a 30th anniversary celebration and alumni reunion on Saturday, April 13. Registration will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Webb University Center's North Mall.
The reunion will include campus tours from 10:45 to noon; a lunchtime presentation about WODU from noon to 1 p.m.; guest shows on the radio station from 1-6 p.m.; a cocktail hour and dinner reception from 6-9 p.m.; and an after hours get together immediately following the dinner reception, at Phantom's on 21st Street in Norfolk.
The dinner reception will feature special guest speaker Jeremy Coleman, a 1988 graduate of Old Dominion and a former WODU program director. Coleman currently serves as program director at two FM talk radio stations, WJFK-FM in Washington, D.C., and WNEW-FM in New York City. As program director at both stations, he oversees the direction of WJFK's national syndication of the "Don & Mike" show and WNEW's national syndication of the "Opie & Anthony" show.
Former WODU members interested in doing a guest show on WODU should e-mail the radio station at contact@woduradio.com by Wednesday, April 10, to sign up for a time slot.
All former WODU members, even those who did not graduate from Old Dominion, as well as local radio professionals, are invited to attend. Cost per person is $25 and includes all events. Registration is required by Wednesday, April 10.
